Water Quality Grant
Every year, CONTECH accepts proposals related to the implementation of a water quality education program, best management practice (BMP), or facility maintenance cost analysis. Qualified organizations include public agencies, universities or research institutions, and non-profit organizations focused on stormwater issues.
As an environmental company, CONTECH understands the need to preserve and respect the natural habitat. This grant is funded as part of their philanthropic contributions to environmental causes. The water quality grant is awarded to the organization whose research will directly impact the understanding and improvement of water quality. 2008 Water Quality Grant Recipient: Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay CONTECH is pleased to announce that the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay has been awarded a significant portion of the 2008 Water Quality Grant for their outstanding efforts to establish a regional approach to stormwater control thereby benefiting the environment and quality of the Chesapeake Bay region. The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay (ACB) is a non-profit organization that builds and fosters partnerships to protect and to restore the Bay and its rivers. In an effort to address the challenges of organizing a multi-state and multi-jurisdiction region, the 2008 Water Quality Grant will assist the ACB in conducting a stormwater summit for regional partners to participate in the advancement of the Baywide Stormwater Action Plan assembled by the Chesapeake Stormwater Network, a partner in this grant. The effort will include the development of issues papers for the summit, the planning and conducting of the summit, and leadership after the summit to maintain momentum and progress.
